Available all year round, Periwinkles at Second Valley is a fantastic base to explore all the attractions of the Fleurieu Peninsula. 

Second Valley beach is ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and relaxing, and the jetty and rocks are fun for walking and fishing.

Periwinkles is a well-equipped two storey holiday home ideal for family and group getaways. Only a short walk from the Second Valley jetty and beach, our lovely beach house sleeps up to 8 adults in 5.5 bedrooms.

Each level has its own kitchen, living and bathroom areas, so there is room for two families, or for children or grandparents to retreat downstairs.

Enjoy the newly renovated upstairs living spaces, and the original retro charm downstairs! With beautiful views, a combustion heater for cosy winter retreats, and table tennis in the shed, Periwinkles is the perfect location to relax, play, and enjoy the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula.

About us

Back when our kids were little, every summer holidays we'd head down to Second Valley Caravan Park for a week away. When they got a bit older, we finally left them the grandparents for our first no-kids weekend away... not far from the city but far enough to relax at our favourite place: Second Valley. We stayed in what was then one of Second Valley's only rental properties on Valley Heights Drive. While we taking a walk around the township, we stumbled across 11 Oceanview Drive for sale. So since then we have

From summer holidays camping with our little girls, to renovations and business ventures with friends, to sharing the reigns with our now adult children: for 20 years Second Valley has been our favourite place to work, play and relax.

Access and accessibility

Guests have access to both levels of the house, and to the shed with table tennis, gas and Weber BBQs.

Each level of Periwinkles is completely self contained, with separate exterior access. There is no internal staircase between upstairs and downstairs, but stairs from the outside balcony to the downstairs pavement make moving between levels easy. 

The downstairs access requires no stairs, only a small step. However it does requiring traversing a sloped gravel driveway and it is not the main living space.

Quilts and pillows are provided, but guests must BYO sheets, pillowcases, towels, and tea towels. 

RAINWATER

Second Valley township operates on rainwater and septic tanks. We ask that our guests are mindful of their water usage and only use the cleaning products provided while staying at Periwinkles. ​
